Greetings!
As we enter the Lenten season, we are challenged to consider our walk with Jesus, where he calls us and how we can respond. Our Region is teeming with opportunities! Missional, Educational, Spiritual, and events for children and youth are on the calendar. Check it out. I am especially excited that the brochures and information for Camp Vick and Pathfinder Lodge arrived in the mail this week. You won’t want to miss this!

INTERIM MINISTRY CONFERENCE
April 20-22, 2017 – Delta Lake Conference Center, Rome
The deadline for registration is April 1, 2017. We need a minimum of 16 persons registered for the course, or otherwise, we will have to cancel the event. So please consider registering as soon as possible! (Our maximum registration will be 26 persons.)

WATERS OF BLESSINGS MISSION TRIPS
Update: Six New Yorkers have signed in for the trip to Nicaragua April 21 to 29. Only one New Yorker, Jim Kelsey, has signed on for the trip July 21 to 30. Don’t make him go to Nicaragua alone with a bunch of Pennsylvanians.
What is the cost? The estimated cost of going on each of the trips will be about $1800. (This does not include the material costs which are being raised separately.)
How can you or your congregation participate?
- You can go on one of the trips.
- You can contribute to the $25,000 materials cost by sending a gift to the Region (ABC/NYS, 5865 East Seneca Tpke, Jamesville NY 13078) marked “Nicaragua trip.”
- You can support someone else’s participation in one of the trips. For registration information go to

HOUSE OF WORSHIP ENERGY SEMINARS

In this seminar, you will learn about:
- Building science fundamentals
- Health & safety issues
- Reducing heating & utility bills
- NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research & Development Authority) services and audits
Who should come? Anyone interested in learning about and reducing energy costs at their church or in their home.
GO TO MEETING TRAINING
GotoMeeting is a web-based platform where people can come together for an online meeting and share video and audio feeds, and the leader can share documents with other participants.
The Region has begun using GoToMeeting for its online Lay Study Courses. We are offering training for both teachers and technical support people who think they might be interested in helping provide online Lay Study courses, both those courses provided by our Associations and those provided by the Region. This training is also available to church leaders who would like to learn how to use this tool for church meetings as well. Congregations can save money by meeting online. - March 14 (snow date March 21) at Latham Community Baptist Church, 109 Forts Ferry Road, Latham
- March 28 (snow date March 30) at the Region office, 5865 E. Seneca Tpke, Jamesville
These sessions are funded by the Region’s Mathew 25 Grant and by your church’s contribution to Region ministry through the ABC/NYS Region Offering, United Mission, the America for Christ Offering, and direct gifts to the Region.
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
Christian Community Credit Union’s 2017 Scholarships for Success Program is awarding $60,000 in scholarships. The scholarship program is open to members of Christian Community Credit Union with a checking account (newly-opened or existing). The scholarship application deadline is March 31, 2017 and scholarships will be awarded by late-May. Find information at CCCU Scholarships.
