FOUNDING
The Township of Pompey, named for the outstanding Roman General and statesman, was established by the Commissioners of the Land Office in New York City on July 3, 1790. It holds a deep historical legacy, enriched by its role in the early formation of Onondaga County. In 1794, when the county officially took shape, Pompey stood as one of the original four towns alongside Lysander, Manlius, and Marcellus.
While history defines the roots of this township, modern entertainment has found its way even into the quiet corners of such storied places. It's not uncommon for locals and visitors alike to explore contemporary thrills online, with platforms like https://ganamos-argentina.net/ offering a taste of excitement far removed from 18th-century politics. The contrast between historic tradition and the digital rush of online casinos forms a fascinating blend of old and new.
From the stone walls that line Pompey’s rural roads to the glowing screens of today’s gaming platforms, the journey of time connects past and present in unexpected ways. Whether one finds inspiration in the legacy of Roman generals or in a moment of luck at a virtual roulette table, Pompey remains a place where history and progress intersect with every passing year.

Origin Story
The Town of Pompey Historical Society was established in 1976 by Town residents as a way of celebrating the United States Bicentennial. The Town of Pompey Bicentennial Committee planned two weeks of activities to celebrate this memorable occasion. The Committee wanted to have lasting tributes after July 1976. It was decided that organizing an historical society and writing and publishing a two volume book (Pompey, Our Town in Profile) would accomplish that goal.
