Coffee Time With Colby

Grounds for divorce:

If you know me then you know I love coffee, being a coffee roaster has allowed me to travel the country meeting other coffee roasters and tasting different coffee from all over the globe.  I am always on the hunt for a great cup of coffee, it is not unusual for me to take vacations around coffee shops that I want to visit.

Fun fact:

Turkish Law in the 16th century stated that women could divorce her husband if he did not provide her with a daily quota of coffee.  Thankfully for me, that is not an issue in our house.

What’s in the coffee pot: (what’s coming up)

We will be having a game night for family and friends on May 12th at 6 pm at the fellowship hall the purpose of this event is simple, to connect with each other and have a good time.  We hope you will join us.

What brewing: (what we are doing right now)

Wednesday service has been amazing we hope you will join us sometime if you have not experienced a service yet.  We kick off a new series tonight April 25th about fear, how to overcome fear.  The question I want everyone to think about is this, what do you fear_______? The reason we are going to this series is because so many of us let fear control our lives, fear becomes a big stop sign that we cannot get past and fear has the ability to stop us from achieving our purpose.  I am even going to let my amazing wife Johanna preach on of the messages in this series so that will be exciting.

My cup is empty (what we have just finished with our sermons)

We just finished our series on boldness, the main point was this if we want to change our community we need to be bold for Jesus.  What stops us from being bold is fear, fear of what people may think or fear that we may offend someone.

The last week of this 4 part series we broke into small groups and discussed how to apply the sermons in our lives.  I want to leave you with a few of the questions I wrote out for our small groups.  My hope is you will answer these questions on your own and apply them in your life.

I am so excited to be a part of this church we have an amazing future if we work together as one team that loves each other like a family while always looking ahead to Jesus.

God Bless, Pastor Colby Sutter

The questions:

  • We speak boldly about what we believe in. What do you speak boldly about?

                ______________________________________________________________________________

  • Why don’t you share your faith in situations? Or why are you not bold in times in certain situations?

______________________________________________________________________________

  • Peter and John start preaching about Jesus in the temple and get arrested. Their boldness made a statement.  What statement does your boldness or lack of boldness make at your job, your work, your family and in your life?
